National Non-Smoking Week

On January 16th Health Canada released statements regarding Canada’s annual National Non-Smoking Week.

Over the last decade there have been many programs introduced to Canadians to help foster a positive and successful quit smoking approach to where multiple pathways of reduced risk or less harmful alternatives and tools are introduced to assist Canadians in kicking the habit.

More than 45,000 Canadians die annually due to tobacco death or disease. Currently this number is not waning quickly enough and loved ones are faced with tumultuous outcomes of loss.

Vaping products, though considered as commercial products, are noted as less harmful than tobacco cigarettes and have been added to the Canadian Government’s quit planner. We are pleased to see the acceptance of a reduced risk and effective product being added to this program.

We would like to remind the public that vaping products are not for youth or non-smokers.

The Vaping Industry Trade Association remains committed to fostering a compliant relationship with its membership and industry members alike. We would like to thank Health Canada and the Canadian Government for allowing adult Canadians who Vape to use their quit planner as they make a successful switch from combustible tobacco.
